What we collect
Pip does not collect your personal data. There is no sign up and no account. The games you add, the plays you log, the players you name, and your wishlist all live in local storage on your device.
What stays on your device
- Your game collection and the details you add to each game.
- Your logged plays, scores, and win records.
- The names of the people you play with.
- Your wishlist, collection value, and app preferences.
If you delete the app, this data is removed with it. We cannot recover it for you, because we never had a copy.
Optional game lookups
When you add a game by searching for its name, Pip can fetch public details about that game (player count, play time, box art) from a public board game database. These lookups send only the game title you searched for. They do not send your identity, your collection, or any of your play history.
Subscriptions
Pip Premium is handled through Apple's App Store and our subscription provider, RevenueCat, which manages the purchase and confirms whether your subscription is active. Apple processes your payment under Apple's own privacy policy. We receive anonymous subscription status, not your payment details. We never see your card information.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. We do not run a notification server and we do not use your activity to target you.
Analytics and tracking
Pip does not include third party analytics or advertising trackers. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share data, because we do not collect it in the first place.
Children
Pip is built for general audiences and is safe for family game nights, but it is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how Pip handles data, we will update this page and note the date at the top. Because the app keeps your data on your device, any change here will always be in service of that principle, not against it.
Contact
Questions about privacy can be sent to the support address listed on our App Store page. We are happy to explain anything here in plain terms.
